National Mission: SEMAA is an innovative, national project designed to increase the participation and retention of historically underserved and underrepresented K-12 youth from 14 states and the District of Columbia, in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The Miami-based NASA SEMAA Program Mission is to provide a challenging curriculum that meets national and international science, technology, engineering, and mathematics standards, and lead to systemic improvement through teacher involvement, integration District Initiatives, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This seamless bridge from school-based academies to aerospace related careers will produce citizens capable of making wise decisions that will meet the challenges of a global economy. Although SEMAA is committed to serving underserved and underrepresented students and their families, the program is open to all students. |
