The January 2008 H-11 School Board mandate proffered by Dr. Martin Karp, Board Member, indicates that all middle and senior high schools are required to submit at least one (1) entry in the South Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair (SFRSEF).
The SFRSEF and Awards Program will be held at Miami Dade College, North Campus, 11380 NW 27th Avenue; Miami, FL 33167-3495 on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010; Times: 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Students are expected to remain for the entire day's schedule, especially those awarded in the Superior category and Special Awards.
All projects submitted to the Fair must adhere to the International Rules for Pre-College Science Research, as found in the M-DCPS Science Fair Rules, available in the Science Leaders' Handbook, Appendix C and online at: http://science.dadeschools.net/scifair/registration.html.
Registration and project check-in will take place according to the following schedule:
Online registration for your school's representative(s) at the Fair will be available from Monday, November 2nd, 2009 - Monday, December 7th, 2009. All projects intended to be submitted to the Fair must be registered during that time-frame.
Hard-copies of signed, required documentation of research, found at the District's Competition website under SFRSEF Forms must arrive at the Division of Mathematics, Science, and Advanced Academic Programs no later than Thursday, December 10, 2009 by 5:00 p.m. All paperwork should be hand delivered or if posted through U.S. mail, request a return receipt of delivery.
Project /Entry fee: $15 per project, research paper, and/or bridge which must be received no later than Thursday, December 10, 2009. There is a maximum of 15 projects/entries per school.
