Preparing the students of Miami-Dade County Public Schools to be the next generation of scientists, engineers and inventors starts today in the elementary classrooms. American scientists have predicted that in the 21st century more discoveries will be made then in the previous century. However, the nation's assessments show that we, as a nation, are not adequately preparing our students to face future challenges in a world that increasingly demands that its citizens become scientifically literate. Our goal is to provide cutting edge science curriculum, support and resources that can be utilized to encompass hands-on, inquiry-based science that provides opportunities for elementary students to learn about the natural and manmade world through discoveries and rigorous and relevant activities. |
