The mission of Dade County Science Teachers' Association is to provide quality leadership in science education through: Informing their members about resources available to support the education/instruction of diverse learners Fostering collaboration among individual science teachers Maintaining focused organizational relationships with M-DCPS science administrators, and the school board to develop, support, and evaluate mechanisms that value science education leaders and the science leadership continuum.
Promoting professional development/learning for teachers in science content and instructional strategies development that support the link between the use of inquiry strategies and increased student learning. Providing collaboration with the Dade County Council of Teachers of Mathematics to support professional development and implementation of high quality math/science integration.

Here are two of this year’s events: 1.Our Department of Science and DCSTA K-12 conference is being held at Miami Senior High School on October 27th, 2017. Registration for the professional development is available on My Learning Plan. Additional information regarding the conference including an overview of the agenda and selection of breakout sessions can be found on the DCSTA website here. It is requested that participants bring a mobile device to access presentation resources during the conference. Carpooling and arriving early is highly recommended. You'll be able to see vendor materials and network with colleagues and community partners prior to the opening session and during lunch (compliments of various sponsors). 2.The 2018 DCSTA Science Teacher of the Year Ceremony and Banquet will be held at the Miami Airport Marriott Hotel on Friday, May 4, 2018.
